Free Midcoast Music Together demo classes

Midcoast Music Together owner, director and teacher Jessica Day has announced the addition of two new teachers, BJ Kopishke and Kella River, as well as new locations and classes for the fall. Free demo classes are offered this week in Knox, Waldo and Lincoln counties.

Music Together is an internationally recognized early childhood music and movement program for families with children from infancy to 7 years of age. Classes are offered throughout the week in locations from Belfast to Waldoboro. New locations include Waterfall Arts in Belfast, the University of Maine Cooperative Extension in Waldoboro and Rockland Public Library. Classes continue at Bay Chamber Community Music School in Rockport and Thomaston Yoga Studio.

On Tuesday, Sept. 18, a family mixed-age class (for children newborn through age 5, siblings welcome, and their parents/caregivers) from 9:15 to 10 a.m.; and a Big Kids Music Together class (children age 5, 6 and 7, parents required to attend) from 4 to 5 p.m. will be held at Waterfall Arts, 256 High St., Belfast.

On Wednesday, Sept. 19, family mixed-age classes will be held from 9:15 to 10 a.m. at Rockland Public Library, 80 Union St., and from 11:15 a.m. to noon at Thomaston Yoga Studio, Main Street/Route 1; and a Big Kids Music Together class from 4 to 5 p.m. will be held at Bay Chamber Community Music School, 18 Central St., Rockport. In Belfast, a family mixed-age class will be held from 9:15 to 10 a.m. at Waterfall Arts.

On Friday, Sept. 21 a family mixed-age class will be held from 11:15 a.m. to noon at the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, Manktown Road in Waldoboro.

A final three demo classes are scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 22. At Bay Chamber Community Music School, a family mixed-age class will be held from 9:15 to 10 a.m.; and a Big Kids Music Together class from 11 a.m. to noon. At Waterfall Arts in Belfast, there will be a family mixed-age class from 10:15 to 11 a.m.
