Mildred S. Marden, 105

Searsport — Mildred S. Marden, 105, died Friday June 8, 2012, at Harbor Hill Center in Belfast. She was born April 17, 1907, in Bradford, the daughter of Eugene and Alice Smith.

Mildred was a fine seamstress and good cook; she taught piano lessons and played the piano at church. She was a member of Searsport Congregational Church, the local grange and the Rebeccas.

Mildred is survived by a son, Arnold Gray, and his wife, Phyllis; a daughter-in-law, Arlene Marden; grandchildren Dianna Soo, Colleen Kreps, Valerie Grove, Michael Marden, Perry Marden, John Marden and Raylene Marden, as well as several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents,she was predeceased by her husband, Eugene D. Marden, and a son, Eugene W. Marden.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 14, at Searsport Congregational Church, Church St., Searsport, with the Rev. Dr. Arlin T. Larson officiating. A reception will follow the service in Curtis Hall. Burial will be at Pilgrim’s Home Cemetery in Monroe.
