Miles of Hope Cancer Transport featured in LCT Magazine
All Aboard Trolley and Limousine’s Jim Gamage was recently featured in the January issue of LCT Magazine, a publication that acts as a resource for transportation operators.
The article highlights Gamage’s Miles of Hope Cancer Transport project, which offers cancer patients in Knox County rides to chemotherapy and radiation appointments. Patients must generally travel 90 miles to Bath or Augusta for treatments, which can take a toll on family members. Some patients have even opted out of treatments because they are unable to find transportation. Miles of Hope offers patients rides, free of charge. Gamage has brought patients to nine hospitals, some as far away as Boston, for treatments. The trips are financed out of his own pocket, and a Benefit Breakfast is organized every May to fundraise for Miles of Hope.
