Monroe Town News
Many changes will be taking place at the Monroe Library. We are proud to announce that we received a Grant from the Steven and Tabatha king foundation to help us update our collection and digitize our catalog. This means that we will close the library until all the renovations are complete. There is a box in the lobby to deposit returned items. We also have many paperbacks and VHS tapes for sale. The new Monroe calendars are also in progress. If you have a local business and want to advertise, please contact Marge Sheridan 525-4428.
Well school is back in session. The Superintendent is in the process of forming a committee to look at things that the school system can do to involve the community and parents as well as students in the improvement of the way it deals with bullying as other situations such as what occurred in the spring last school year. I am one of the members of this committee along with my daughter Sylvia. Our first meeting will be held on September 18th. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas that they would like to be addressed or entertained please email or call me. There will be an open community forum tentatively on the 30th of October. i will keep you posted on the progress of this committee and the exact date once it has been securely set.
On a personal note
It is starting to be cold over night now. If you are one who gardens be careful that you do not loss those late crops to our early frost. If you have those try to cover them. Even an old sheet will do the trick.
