Winter

The official start of winter is just around the corner, not that you would know that from the crazy swings back and forth of the weather. More 40 plus degree temperatures and rain that just borders on the edge of wanting to turn to snow. I say just snow and get it over with so we can move on through the inevitable season of cold and white stuff that we know mother nature has in store. There are many other parts of the country that got a jump start over the Thanksgiving holidays. Locally we got a small tease last Sunday( December 1st) and even had the first snow delay of the year for the District schools on Monday. I hope this is not a sign of what Winter will be like. The kids go late enough into the summer anyway and the more school is interrupted the longer they have to go. Sometimes I long for the days when they had scheduled snow days built into the calender so that the kids as well as teachers and parents are not held in limbo as to the actual last day of school date

Monroe Elementary upcoming events

A Pie & Cake Auction was held on December 5th. It was a project of the Monroe PTO and a huge success with over a dozen goodies auctioned off to benefit the school.

Our Holiday Concert will be held at 1:30 on December 16th.
