Monroe Store Now Open
I know that many of you may be aware that the store that has been long rumored to be in the works has now come to fruition. Joan Hayward ,who is the manager and sister of the co-owner Valerie and husband Bob as well as their daughter Katherine, recently sent me an email detailing the soft opening offerings .The hours have not been set in stone yet and the crew is working hard to bring things together. There is a full kitchen and they are offering a menu that starts with breakfast and my husband tells me they grind their own coffee which to me sounds worth checking out. There are offerings of local produce and meats as well.So far the most popular items are Stone Fox Ice Cream and the hand tossed pizza and the pasta with homemade sauce and meatballs. Most of the food coming out of the kitchen is homemade. They also have over 100 different kinds of craft beers that they offer 10% off mix and match six packs of. They have an expanding collection of wines, too. They are working on having a cribbage night, open mike night and are open to any other suggestions. Their phone number is 525-4411.
Stop in and show your support for this new local business. And as more information comes my way I will be sure to pass it along.
The Monroe Library has also recently reopened and has completed it's computerized updating thanks to a grant from the Stephen and Tabitha King Foundation.
