Lions Club breakfast

Monroe Lions Club is sponsoring a community breakfast, Saturday, Feb. 9, from 8-10 a.m. at the Monroe Community Church. All are invited to start the day off with a delicious breakfast of ham, eggs, brunch dishes, doughnuts, etc. Cost: $7 adults and $3 for children. Proceeds will benefit the many activities for youth in the community that the Monroe Lions Club sponsors. Come and join  the fun. For more information call Mike at 525-4431 or David at 525-6621.

On a personal note

Things have been cold, warm and then wet and windy. What comes next? Well, weight limit signs have already been posted on our town's dirt roads, and even with the returning cold the ruts that formed during the rains and winds of this past week are as hard on vehicles as the day or two of mud. Unfortunately, we all know that the mud season is right around the corner and with the winters we have had the past few years your guess is as good as mine which will last longer, winter or spring.
