The Montville Field Day was Saturday August 10th, and for those of you who could not attend, here is a recap from Karen York:
The Montville Fire department and town residents put together another successful field day despite the rain and mud. The chicken bbq was outstanding, awesome music provided by Ben, Phil, Vic, George, and Sonny Perry's band. Many folks participated in our auctions, the kids played games, the road race was run. Cake contestants and judges enjoyed their contest and the sun shined all day. Yay! We offer our congratulations to our new town correspondent Fran Gonzalez for winning the t-shirt design contest!
We are very grateful to all who coordinated events, provided potluck and assisted us this year. We truly could not manage this event without your help and support.

Liberty Library News:
If you missed the Photo Archivist Matt Wheeler from the Penobscot Marine Museum program at the Liberty Library on August 10th, you can view the photos on the Museum's website. There is a direct link to the historical photographs of Liberty and Montville on the Library website www.liberty.lib.me.us. These images are extremely cool and I encourage everyone to check it out! Also, there is an exhibit of historical photographs on display at the Liberty Library during the month of August. Check the library's website for their hours (www.liberty.lib.me.us).
Kate Braestrup will be at the Liberty Library on Friday, August 23rd at 7:00 pm. Kate is a community minister, chaplain of the Maine Warden Service, and the author of the New York Times bestselling memoir, Here if You Need Me, Marriage and Other Acts of Charity and Beginner's Grace: Bringing Prayer to Life. This is a reschedule of program on June 28th.
Lastly I would like to send out condolences to Miranda Harrison and her family for the passing of her mother Lynn Harrison. Lynn had an infectious smile that was most evident when she was talking about her grandchildren. She will be sorely missed.
If you have news you would like me to include, send me an email at the address above or give me a call. I will get it in there for you. I hope to hear from you.
Until next time.
