Montville Town News

By Fran Gonzalez | Dec 13, 2013

The storm that is forecast for this weekend is creating quite a buzz in our household these past couple days. I have to admit, I am pretty excited as well. All preparations have been made; wood pile replenished on porch, plow has been put on tractor and battery charged, sleds and shovels have been located and accessible, sledding hill has been "groomed", snowmobile has been tinkered with and starts up. Hopefully the snow will stick around long enough so we can enjoy a white Christmas.

Montville Town Office News

A reminder that the town office will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 24 & 25. Also, 2014 dog licenses, boat and snowmobile registrations, and hunting and fishing licenses are all available at the town clerk's office. Stop on by!

Union Harvest Grange, in Montville, held their Holiday Tea on Sunday December 8. Many people stopped by and had a wonderful time escaping the holiday stresses, conversing with friends and neighbors, enjoying refreshments and watching the children make their own decorations and decorate the tree. The Grange Maintainence and Restoration Drawing was also drawn that afternoon. The Grange members would like to thank all who took part, for their support of the organization. Future events will be taking place at the Grange to help the restore and maintain the building. Keep watching for details as they become available. Grangers meet every second Thursday at 7pm, for anyone who may be interested in attending or joining; there is typically a potluck dinner at 6pm, prior to the meeting.
