Montville Town News
I've been seeing a lot of bird activity this past week. Especially large Blue Jays hanging out by the feeders. We did see one Robin so far but no turkey vulchers. Can spring really be on it's way? Anyone care to guess what date we might see (or feel) the first 60º in our fair town? Send me an email and if you are correct you will receive a "major prize" (to be thought out later). At this point, I would not mind if winter quietly went away. Let's just say you won...

Call to Artists
I mentioned this last week but it's worth mentioning again. There is a call to Artists in Montville. Maine artists, age 50 and older, are invited to exhibit their work at the 12th ANNUAL FESTIVAL OF ART to be held in Belfast, MAY 15 THRU 18, 2014. Sponsored by Senior College at Belfast and the University of Maine Hutchinson Center, this non-juried exhibit is open to amateur and professional visual artists. Last year’s Festival included 140 works of art and attracted over 1,000 visitors. An Entry Form and information may be requested at email@example.com or by calling Juliane Dow at 857-719-6733. The entry deadline is March 31, 2014.
Daylight Saving Time - 2014
At 2 a.m. on the second Sunday in March, we set our clocks forward one hour ahead. This will happen on Sunday, March 9th this year. One thing I've always disliked about daylight savings is waking up in the dark, going to work in the dark and then leaving work in the dark. We would probably be better served by learning to hibernate.
That's it for this week. If you have news you would like me to include, or just let me know you read the column, send me an email or give me a call. My deadline for next week's edition is Friday at 10:00.
Until next time.
