Montville Town News

By Fran Gonzalez | Mar 28, 2014

A funny thing happened to me this week. I was was half-paying attention to the late night news this past Tuesday when I said to my wife Sharon, that kid has a shirt just like Isaac (our son). I know that gray camouflage shirt anywhere.  Well, it turns out, it was Isaac and the news was doing a story on his after-school club "Hactivate". He hadn't told us, well, I guess he hadn't told me. It was a great surprise! His group gets together on Mondays after school and works on computers, programming and building stuff with computer parts. Check it out: http://wabi.tv/2014/03/25/hacktivate-inspires-social-activity-electronics/. For more information on their after school and summer-camp programs visit, http://hacktivate.org/ and www.hackmaine.org/.

Liberty Library News
Frogs of Maine - Friday, April 4, 6:30pm
The library will kick-off their science-themed program about frogs, their importance, and how to care for them. Naturalist Cloe Chunn will help us make friends with the 8 frogs of Maine and learn how easily they can be monitored. Learn about the role you can play in helping protect frogs in Maine as a citizen scientist, all while having fun! Children age 6 and up are welcome. This program is co-sponsored by the Sheepscot Wellspring Alliance (SWLA). Refreshments will be served.

That's about it for this week. If you have news you would like me to include, or just let me know you read the column, send me an email or give me a call. My deadline for next week's edition is Friday at 10:00.

Until next time.
