Waldo County 4-H Auction

Jodie Martin sent a note about an event that the Waldo County 4-H leaders' association is hosting, to benefit the 4-H program here in Waldo County. We are having a live auction at the Belfast Boathouse on October 15th, from 2 to 6 p.m., or until everything goes. All items have been generously donated from local businesses, and all proceeds go directly to the Waldo County 4-H program.

"We are asking the public to please come and support our Waldo County 4-H youth by coming to the auction," Jodie said. "If anyone has any questions or maybe they would like to donate something, they can contact me (Jodie Martin) at 930-9876, or"

Morrill Historical Society

Anyone interested in sharing a story or having an interest in the Historical Society, please feel free to contact Anne Ambrose or Chris Cox. Anne Ambrose reports that she is still looking for help in stringing an old rope bed frame donated to our Smith House by Gail Thomas. It needs stringing up before it can be displayed. She has looked at an intact bed at the Knox Museum in Thomaston but has never had the opportunity to put one together and would be grateful to anyone who might like to assist with this task.

Rabies clinics

Another reminder that there are rabies clinics coming up that offer free rabies shots for animals of Waldo County residents, sponsored by the Waldo County Humane Society. Here are the dates and times. They are on Saturdays, 9 to 11 a.m., as follows: Oct. 22, Brooks Fire Station; Nov. 5, Liberty Community Center; Dec. 10, Lincolnville Fire Station.
