Higgins family Christmas
Pat Higgins, as well as her daughter Sally, were delighted to have a very full Christmas with nearly every one of Pat’s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren attending a family gathering on Dec. 23. The gathering was held at Nick and Sonja Salvatore’s home. Pat’s daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Keith Thompson, were there, as well as their four daughters and numerous grandchildren; Pat’s son and daughter-in-law, Milton and Wendy Higgins, who live in Belfast, were also able to attend with two of their three children. Pat’s other daughters made some longer trips from their respective homes -- Sandra and Mike Littlefield travelled down from Washington County. (Their son, James, was not able to attend the family gathering, but was able to enjoy a visit with Pat on the very next day.) Sharon and Carmen Torrey, as well as their three children, made a little longer trip, as they travelled up from Georgia. Pat’s youngest daughter, Shirley Diepenbrock, her husband, Dave, and their three children have been living in Papua New Guinea for many years working as missionaries. For some time now, though, they have been stateside on furlough and were able to travel back to Maine for Christmas.
Dog licenses were due on Dec. 31; however, your dogs must be licensed for 2013 by Jan. 31 or there will be a $25 per dog late fee. It is $6 per spayed/neutered dogs and $11 for dogs that are not spayed or neutered. Late fees start Feb. 1.
