Hilda Sheldon’s birthday

It hardly seems possible, but Hilda Sheldon just celebrated her 96th birthday this month. The longtime author of this very column was quite blessed to participate in three different celebrations over the course of three days. Pat Higgins hosted one of the parties at her home for Hilda and her Bible study group. Hilda’s son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Faye Sheldon, hosted the other two parties at their home -- a small gathering on Feb. 18, followed by a much larger family gathering on her actual birthday during the evening of Feb. 19. Her own children, as well as many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were there to celebrate that night. One of her grandsons, Tanner, shares her birthday, but with an 80-year age difference. Looking at pictures from the evening’s events, Hilda looked so vibrant and happy. She is such a blessing to all whose lives she has touched.
