Pittsfield — The Mount View wrestling squad earned a first, two seconds, a third and a fourth during the Mid-Maine Tournament Dec. 28. The event was hosted by Maine Central Institute.
Mustang Anthony Barnard finished first in the 145-pound class.
The team scores were: Ellsworth 184, Morse of Bath 107, Maine Central Institute 89, Oceanside of Rockland/Thomaston 61, Medomak Valley "A" 59, Mount View of Thorndike "A" 52, Bucksport 51, Mount View "B" 13, Orono 8, John Bapst of Bangor 7.5, Medomak Valley "B" 4 and Ellsworth "B" no score.
The individual Mount View results, with Mustangs listed first, were:
138 pounds — Matt Wheeler pinned Andrew Cronk, Med, at 0:52; and was pinned by Connor Petros, Ells, at 1:42 in the championship final. Wheeler finished second.
145 pounds — Barnard pinned Chad Bonti, Mor, at 3:36; and pinned Austin Smith, Ells, at 1:42 in the championship final. Barnard finished first.
Orrin Harding was pinned by Smith, Ells, at 0:50; and was pinned by Bonti, Mor, at 1:28 of the consolation final. Harding finished fourth.
152 pounds — Scott Vaillancourt was pinned by Isaac Arabadjis, Oro, at 3:14; and was pinned by Joe Wright, Ells, at 3:37.
220 pounds — Job Mesaric was pinned by K.P. Hillaire, Buck, at 3:57; and lost to Dylan Look, Med, 10-6 in the consolation final. Mesaric finished fourth.
285 pounds — Devan Fuller pinned Alex Rackliffe, Ocean, at 0:59; and lost to Jared Bragg, Ells, 8-2 in the championship final. Fuller finished second.
Chris Cole was pinned by Bragg, Ells, at 2:57; and pinned Rackliffe, Ocean, at 0:28 in the consolation final. Cole finished third.
