Music, art, comedy at Fling Into Fall
Searsport — The town’s annual celebration of all things autumnal is set for Columbus Day Weekend and includes several performances, as well as a wet-art event.
Friday night, Oct. 11, a 7 p.m. bonfire at the Public Safety Building, 3 Union St., will heat up the crowd for local rockers the Black Ledge Band, which will play dance favorites from the 1990s to today. Expect everything from Johnny Cash to Buckcherry from these guys, who will play from 7:15 to 9 p.m.
Signup for the Saturday, Oct. 12, Art Du Jour plein air painting and photography event will be 9 a.m. at the Penobscot Marine Museum tent. Artists will be out and about between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., with the results up for viewing and silent auction from 3 to 5 p.m. in the tent.
At 1 p.m. Saturday, the Lincolnville Town Band will perform an hour-long concert in the Union Hall auditorium, above the Town Office, 1 Union Stt. Fling Into Fall will be capped Saturday at 7 p.m. by a comedy show in the second-floor auditorium.
