Thorndike — A Thorndike man was arrested Thursday night after an evening of drinking with his wife and a friend took a bad turn when he and his wife began arguing.

William Ellsey, 36, of Thorndike, was arrested on charges of domestic violence assault, domestic violence terrorizing and criminal mischief following a series of events that allegedly occurred at his residence.

Lt. Jason Trundy with the Waldo County Sheriff's Office said police responded to a report of a domestic dispute at Ellsey's home and when officers arrived, they met with Ellsey, his wife and the male guest.

After speaking with the home occupants, Trundy said, police learned Ellsey and his wife were engaged in an argument when Ellsey allegedly shoved the woman and threatened to kill her. Ellsey also reportedly destroyed some items inside the home, including windows and a television.

Ellsey is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday, June 3.
