No phone booth needed: Kent Clark cards ace at Searsport Pines
Searsport — Searsport Pines Golf Club was host to a hole-in-one June 16 during one of the course's annual tournaments, and got a Superman-like effort from one of its participants.
Playing in the fourth annual Massholes versus Maine-iacs tournament, Kent Clark found the cup on the 133-yard ninth hole, his final hole of the tournament.
The ace was witnessed by playing partners Brent Ginn, Mark Hall and Bob Seekins, as well as a small crowd of onlookers taking in the action from both the eight hole and The Grille. Clark used a pitching wedge and a Penta ball for his hole-in-one.
Clark's team went on to win the tournament with a score of 11-under par.
Second place went to the team of Chris Delvin, Bruce Mills, Matt Prisco and Mike Prisco, which earned the distinction after prevailing in a three-team playoff.
