This Saturday, December 1st at 6pm, the community will gather around in familiar tradition to light up the tree outside of Belfast City Hall.  Our Town Belfast, in coordinating the annual event, has plans for free hot cocoa and cider, as well as a visit from Father Christmas and Mayor Ash.  A lucky child will be randomly selected from the crowd to help the big-guy-in-red turn the switch to light the tree.

Once the tree is lit, there will be caroling led by Reverend Joel Kruger of the First Church in Belfast.  Please join us as we kick off the holiday season the old fashioned way; with a rich and festive community spirit.

This year, we will be dedicating a new lighted topper for the tree to the memory of Elizabeth Heironymous, who for years was instrumental in bringing "Old Fashioned Christmas" to Belfast.
