Old-time radio tale of the season

Nov 26, 2012

Brooks — Marsh River Theater  will present a staged radio play version of “It’s a Wonderful Life” Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. through Dec. 8 at the theater, 24 Monroe Highway/Route 139.

Directed by Mike Switzer, the local cast of actors present the familiar story as an old-time radio show complete with sound effects and “On Air” signage. The holiday tale is best known from the 1946 Frank Capra movie but was presented, as were many movies of the time, on radio as well.

The Marsh River cast features Matt Littlefield, Jennifer Albee, Susan Hall, Frank Champa, Susan Champa, Amanda Stover and Donna Herkel. Tickets are $10, $8 for senior citizens. For ticket information and reservations, call 722-4110.
