“Once Upon a Mattress” headed to Belfast

Belfast — Rehearsals are well underway for the Belfast Maskers' production of the rollicking musical comedy “Once Upon a Mattress” by Mary Rodgers, Marshall Barer, Jay Thompson and Dean Fuller. This over-the-top retelling of classic fable “The Princess and the Pea” debuted in 1959 and made entertainment icon Carol Burnett an overnight star.

The performances will take place at Belfast Area High School, 98 Waldo Ave. Show are set for 7 p.m. Thursdays through Fridays, July 17 through 26. Tickets will be sold only at the door (cash or check), $15 for teens and adults; and $10 for children younger than 13. For more information, call 930-7090 or visit BelfastMaskers.com.
