Swanville — Emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle accident on Swan Lake Ave. in Swanville Tuesday, Aug. 21.

The accident occurred shortly before 2 p.m. after a 1995 Ford Ranger, driven by 24-year-old Brian Kronholm, struck a tree and sustained heavy front-end damage. State Police said Kronholm was attempting to turn into a driveway at 40 mph, missed and struck the tree.

The Ford Ranger was totaled as a result of the accident.

Kronholm originally told Maine State Police Trooper Shawn Porter he saw a deer running across the road as he was attempting to turn into the driveway.

Porter said Kronholm was transported to the hospital for evaluation after complaining of neck pain.
