OneMaine and its OneTables: A new dynamic to engage Maine
Belfast — It’s getting cold out there. Homes are being weatherized, wood stoves are being fed and every month seems to bring a higher heating fuel bill in the mail. What can we do to increase energy efficiency in our homes and businesses? What are the issues facing energy assistance programs in Maine?
A panel discussion on energy efficiency and energy assistance will be held at the Belfast Boathouse on Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 5:30 p.m.
The panel will consist of some of the foremost experts on energy policy in Maine, including:
Michael Stoddard, Efficiency Maine Executive Director; Rick McCarthy, Senior Advisor, Maine Community Action Association; Kirsten Figueroa, Director of Energy and Housing Services, Maine State Housing Authority; John Kerry, former Director of the Governor’s Office of Energy Independence; and, Karen Turgeon, Program Director for 211 Maine.
The event is sponsored by OneMaine, as part of its “OneTable” series. OneTable events provide a collaborative and open forum so that experts can share their insights, ideas and concerns to find creative and effective solutions to the problems facing Maine people. Previous OneTable discussions have focused on subjects such as money in politics, education, rural economic development and healthcare.
The Belfast Boathouse is located at 34 Commercial St., Belfast, ME. For further details, please visit the OneMaine web site at www.onemaine.com.
