Habitat for Humanity of Waldo County is holding an open house at its newly constructed home at 84 Old County Rd., Searsport. The home is nearly completed with just the appliances to be installed after they arrive from Whirlpool, which provides them at a sharply discounted price.

The open house is also an opportunity to meet Habitat’s partner family for this second home, Damien, Holly, Abigail and Noah Brown, currently of Stockton Springs. The house will be sold at fair market value to the Browns with a no-interest loan, which keeps the mortgage payments affordable.

The open house will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Come see how our community has joined together to pay for and construct this simple, safe and affordable.
