Owner claims dog found in Searsport

Photo by: Tanya Mitchell The Searsport Police Department is looking for the owner of a male chocolate Labrador that officers picked up near Water Street at about 11 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6.

Searsport — Searsport Police Chief Dick LaHaye reported a male chocolate Labrador that was found near Water Street Sunday night, Jan. 6, was reunited with his owner as of Tuesday morning, Jan. 8.

LaHaye said the dog was not wearing a collar or tags when police picked him up at about 11 p.m.  The canine was housed at the Dan Rich Public Safety Building until the owner was found.
