Palermo student to compete in Maine Bee March 31

Palermo — Cody Devaney, an eighth-grader from Palermo Consolidated School, recently qualified for the second year in a row as one of the top 100 fourth- through eighth-graders to compete in the Maine National Geography Bee to be held March 31 at UMaine Farmington.

Cody has won the school bee three years in a row. His twin brother won the year before that and also placed in the top three for the school in the last three years.

Palermo Consolidated School is part of part of Regional School Unit 12. The top 100 semifinalists competing this year are listed at natgeobee.org.
