Patricia M. Clark, 90
Augusta — Patricia M. Clark, 90, of Gray Birch Drive and formerly of Belfast, died Friday, Sept. 21, at Gray Birch Rehabilitation Center.
Patricia was born in Worcester, Mass., March 20, 1922, the daughter of Ralph O’Grady and Bessie (Stingel) O’Grady.
She graduated from Searsport High School, class of 1942. In high school, Patricia played on the girls' varsity basketball team, participated in the drama club, and was class historian. Patricia was married three times: to Dexter P. Littlefield, who predeceased her; Sumner P. Scribner, who predeceased her; and Roger Clark.
Patricia’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, who always looked forward to her homemade doughnuts and molasses cookies – especially her grandchildren. Her home was a gathering place for great meals, fun times and many memorable holidays.
She spent a good portion of her life as a devoted caregiver, first to her four children, and in later years to her mother, Bessie Shields. She spent most of her adult life in Belfast, where she was employed for many years in the meat department of the First National grocery store, Cottles grocery and finally Sampsons. In 2002, Patricia moved to Augusta to be closer to her daughter, Kathleen M. Sproul.
Patricia was predeceased by her parents and all four of her siblings: brothers Ronald, Ralph Jr., and John Grady, and sister, Kathleen Kelley.
Patricia is survived by her two sons, Timothy P. Littlefield and his wife, Gayle, of East Holden and Sumner P. Scribner and his wife, Rhonda, of Belfast; and her two daughters, Kathleen M. (Littlefield) Sproul and her husband, Don, of Augusta, and Kimberly S. (Clark) Ruffino of Buffalo, N.Y. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Dynnise E. Littlefield of Orrington, Timothy P. Littlefield Jr. of Ellsworth, Scott M. Littlefield of South Berwick, Jason J. Fuller of Augusta, Melanie A. (Fuller) Lajoie and her husband, Greg, of Augusta, Bethany A. (Sproul) LeBrun and her husband, Todd, of Waterville, Dana C. Scribner and his wife, Kirsten, of Gorham, Amanda E. Joyce of Turkey, Robert L. Joyce III of Buffalo, N.Y., and Andrew Joyce of Buffalo, N.Y. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren; a very dear sister-in-law, Elizabeth Grady of Holden, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews. Patricia will be missed by all.
There will be no public service. At her request, her ashes will be laid to rest in a family cemetery, following a small family remembrance.
The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to the staff of Gray Birch Rehabilitation for the outstanding care Patricia received in her final months.
