Patrons invited to Taste of the Market March 24

Belfast Farmers’ Market is offering a Taste of the Market Friday, March 24, 10 a.m. to noon, at its winter home in Aubuchon Hardware greenhouse on Route 1 in Belfast.

Members will be sampling serving suggestions for their foodstuffs and produce, ranging from locally made cheeses, a seafood dish, crudités and dip, baked goods, jams and more.

Belfast Farmers’ Market is the area’s original nonprofit farm-to-market organization, bringing local products to Belfast since 1980, and is open every Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. year-round.

Winter Market’s $20 coupon giveaway continues through April 14. Shoppers can enter each Friday to win a coupon redeemable for goods from a specific member. Still to be drawn are Peacemeal Farm, Pemaquid Seafood, Maine-ly Poultry, Meadowsweet Farm and Springdale Farm.

Products at winter and early spring market include freshly made crepes while you wait, hot soup, heat and serve meals to take home, maple syrup, honey, jams and preserves, humus, all manner of dairy products including many cheeses and yogurt, a large variety of meats and baked goods including bagels and croissants, seafood, locally grown produce — both fresh and winter storage vegetables, and select farm crafts. Market accepts credit, debit, EBT and SNAP cards.

On April 14, Belfast Farmers’ Market moves outdoors for its 37th season at its summer home in the yard at Waterfall Arts on High Street. Summer market runs rain or shine every Friday, April 14 through October.

New members this year are Dig Deep Farm of China, Maine offering a selection of MOFGA Certified Organic vegetables and micro greens, and Liz Coldren’s Energy Gems of Belfast.
