Patty Aho of the Maine DEP speaks to Kiwanis
In its continued effort to present interesting and informative topics
for its weekly speaker program, the Kiwanis Club invited Patricia Aho,
the Commissioner of the Maine Department of Environmental Protection
to address the group during its meeting on June 25th. Prior to her
arrival at the Kiwanis meeting, Aho spent the earlier part of the day
inspecting Rockland's working waterfront with City officials. During
the Kiwanis meeting, Commissioner Aho outlined the changes and
improvements in the Maine DEP application and inspection process to
ensure that the department treats its employees and the public with
courtesy, respect and consideration and to be fair and honest in its
dealings, and to be mindful of the special qualities that make Maine a
unique place to live and work. Following the meeting, Aho, [right],
received a Kiwanis coffee mug as a token of appreciation for her visit
from Kiwanis president, Janet Page of Owls Head. Kiwanis is a global
organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child
and one community at a time. FMI: rocklandkiwanis.org
