Morning Worship Service 10:45 a.m. (NURSERY PROVIDED)

2 Timothy 4:7. What would it take for you to be able to say at the end of your life, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith”? What will you change in how you are running today that you might be able to declare this at the finish line?

Philippians 3:12-14. If the life of discipleship is a race, are you sitting out due to lack of practice? due to injury? due to no warm-up? Are you in the starting blocks? running too fast? hitting a wall? finding your stride? ready to give up? How might the memory of “what lies behind” (3:13) hinder our running today? Describe one way in which you might forget what lies behind and press on to take hold of the prize God has for you.

Hebrews 12:1-3. How well would you say you are running the Christian race? We are commanded to not only put aside sin, but “every weight” that hinders our running. What are some “weights” that hinder your running of the Christian race? What would it look like to put them aside?

Hebrews 12:2. Practically, what do you think it means to “look to Jesus” as we run? What can you do this week to better persevere, looking to Jesus?

Hebrews 12:3. What tempts you to “grow weary and lose heart”? How can fixing your eyes on Jesus help you resist this temptation?

1 Corinthians 9:24-27. In what ways do you need to “exercise self-control” and “discipline your body and keeping it under control” in order to win the imperishable prize?
