ROCKLAND – On Tuesday, April 24, Trackside Station Restaurant and Loyal Biscuit Co. teamed together to host a fundraiser, “Pints for Paws” to benefit the Humane Society of Knox County. It was the third time the two Rockland businesses partnered for the cause.

Once again, the evening exceeded expectations. In just three hours on a Tuesday night, almost 200 people came through the doors, enjoyed dinner, purchased raffle tickets, and, like the name says, enjoyed 233 pints of beer to benefit the shelter.  The first event, in April of 2011, raised $1057.37 and the October 2011 event raised $1,301.26. The organizers are excited to announce that they raised $1,630 – and then were surprised with an anonymous donation from an attendee for $2,000, making the total donation to the Humane Society of Knox County $3,630.

And in addition to the money raised, donations from the public helped fill an entire trailer with items on the Humane Society’s wish list with items such as bleach, paper towels, cat and dog food, leashes, toys and more.

The night was extra special for two attendees, Dennis Camber and Jamie Fullerton. The couple met at the first Pints for Paws event in April 2011 and Dennis proposed to Jamie during this event – and she said yes!

The organizers would like to thank the following for helping them have such a successful night: Paddy Mills, Fletcher Hall, Peter Gray of Federal Distributors & Sea Dog Brewing Co., Maine Eastern Railroad, Smiling Frog Pets, Pet Food Experts, Harbor Hounds, KDK, llc Apparel Printing & Embroidery, K-9 Solutions, Mutt Nose Best, Caravans, Fidelis Biscuit Co., All Aboard Trolley, Paws & Claws Pet Grooming, Nature’s Variety, Fresh, Canine Country Club, Jen Blood, The Maine Plate, Eastern Tire, Rockland Ford, and Paws & Ink, as well as the staffs of Trackside Station and Loyal Biscuit for their help with the event.

Due to the great success of this event, Trackside and Loyal Biscuit Co. plan to host another “Pints for Paws” event in October.
