Annual costume dance

Poets and Fools at Waterfall Arts

Apr 01, 2014
Last year’s Poets and Fools event drew a crowd of merrymakers.

Belfast — Waterfall Arts’ annual Poets and Fools Costume Party and Dance will be held Friday, April 11, at the arts center, 256 High St. All are invited to attend, wear a costume if they like and celebrate April — the cruelest month, according to T.S. Eliot — community, poetry and creativity.

The party will begin at 7 p.m. with a lively variety show with poets, storytellers, musicians, performers and a mysterious emcee, followed by a costume contest with celebrity judges and prizes; a raffle for a stay at an island cabin on a lake; lots of happy fools; a cash bar; dance music by Merther, reggae band from Blue Hill; and refreshments, fun and friends.

Admission to the fundraiser for Waterfall Arts programs is $8 at the door. Poets and Fools is generously sponsored by Michelle Morrow DMD, Marshall Wharf Brewery, Fiddlehead Artisan Supply, Tattoos by Erik Jones and Eat More Cheese, all located in Belfast.
