Belfast — Police arrested a Waldo man on several charges, including disorderly conduct and refusing to submit to arrest, during an incident Friday, July 18.

Phillip McFadden, 21, of Waldo, was charged with disorderly conduct, criminal trespass, refusing to submit to arrest or detention and possession of a usable amount of marijuana. Belfast Detective Sgt. Bryan Cunningham said officers were near Front Street Pub at 10:26 p.m. when they were asked to remove McFadden from the building.

When officers located McFadden, they observed him shove another patron before asking him to leave the property. However, McFadden refused to leave, Cunningham said. Officers then attempted to place McFadden under arrest but the man allegedly refused to cooperate and a brief struggle ensued.

At the time of his arrest officers also discovered McFadden had marijuana in his possession.

McFadden is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 19.
