Police help wrangle wandering horse on Belmont Avenue
Belfast — Police responded to the report of a horse running loose on Belmont Avenue at about 2:15 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 17, a situation that was quickly resolved with the help of the animal's owner.
Belfast Patrolman Wendell Ward said two horses that belong to Vicki Nickerson, who resides on Belmont Avenue across from EBS, somehow escaped the confines of a fenced area and wandered out to the roadside. Though two horses got out, Ward said police received a complaint about one horse because that animal was standing in the road at one point.
Patrolman Dan Stanicki responded to the scene, Ward said, and the horses' owner arrived to help lead them back to their pasture.
