Waldo County — Three local men have been charged in connection with residential burglaries in Waldo and Swanville that homeowners had reported in recent months.

According to a press release from the Waldo County Sheriff's Office issued Monday, Dec. 3, 20-year-old Hayden Campbell of Swanville was arrested on two counts of burglary, two counts of theft, and one count of stealing drugs. The burglary and theft occurred Aug. 26 at a residence on Waldo Station Road in Waldo.

"The owner of the residence reported prescription medication, currency, copper and a Cruz brand reader were all stolen," stated the release.

The second count of burglary and theft Campbell faces stems from another break-in that was reported Oct. 17. In that case, a homeowner in Swanville reported their residence burglarized and that jewelry and cash were missing from the home.

Austin Stevens, 18, of Swanville has already been charged with burglary and theft in connection with these two incidents, according to the release.

Also charged in connection with the case was 40-year-old Christopher Sudsbury of Belfast. Police say Sudsbury was charged with receiving stolen property after he allegedly traded a bag of marijuana in exchange for some of the stolen jewelry from the Swanville burglary.
