Police seek help locating suspect vehicle in hit-and-run probe
Belfast — Police are asking for the public's help with tracking down a vehicle believed to have been involved in a hit-and-run accident on Cedar Street Thursday, Feb. 21.
Belfast Detective Sgt. Bryan Cunningham said a woman who was visiting a relative at The Deborah Lincoln House reported the hit-and-run crash, which she told police occurred while her Ford Ranger was parked and unattended on the street.
Cunningham said fragments of the offending vehicle have since been recovered from the scene, and further investigation suggested the fragments likely came from a Ford Explorer that was manufactured between the years 2001 and 2006.
Anyone with any information about the accident is asked to call the Belfast Police Department at 338-5255.
