Pretty in pink, SDHS boys plan game support for cancer research

Searsport — The Searsport District High School boys basketball team, along with the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), will hold "Coaches versus Cancer" events during the Vikings' home games the week of Jan. 28-Feb. 2.

During these events, fans are encouraged to wear pink and the team will collect donations to support the fight against cancer.

The schedule of upcoming "Coaches versus Cancer" games includes:

• Monday, Jan. 28 versus Sumner of East Sullivan: Jayvees at 5:30 p.m. and varsity at 7 p.m.

• Wednesday, Jan. 30, versus George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill: Jayvees at 5:30 p.m. and varsity at 7 p.m.

• Saturday, Feb. 2 versus Bangor Christian: Jayvees at 1 p.m. and varsity at 2:30 p.m.
