Printmaking demos at Waterfall Arts

Belfast — In celebration of Waterfall Arts’ new printmaking studio, the public is invited to a series of free printmaking demonstrations at the arts center, 256 High St.

Local artist  Dina Petrillo will demonstrate her method of monotype printing and Richard Mann will demonstrate the squatint process Thursday, Feb. 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. Abbie Read will demonstrate her gelatin print technique and Jeff Jelenfy show how to do intaglio printing Thursday, March 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. Printmaker Tara Law will be in attendance both evenings to show different techniques. Each demo will run approximately 40 minutes.

The new print studio was made possible through the generosity of the Kennedy Family Foundation. Classes and workshops in different printmaking techniques are now underway, with more scheduled to begin in March and April. Open print studio hours also are available.
