Have to get this column written before we get another thunder storm-it has been a wild morning so far. The lights went out and the generator came on for about 5 mins. then shut off and then about 15 minute later a big boom and lightening. Don’t know if it hit any place around here but it was very close and loud and rain coming down in buckets. Hope it won’t affect the Yard and Food Sale that the Steeple People of Stockton Springs are planning for Aug.10th.
We now have a new Deputy Town Clerk, Ashley Bowden of Bucksport. Didn’t get any more information the other day when I was at the Office, both Jill and Ashley were busy. I welcome her to Prospect and do hope he will enjoy her job here.
If you have “stuff” that you want to get rid of, consider donating it to the Prospect Community Club and Fire Dept. for their Joint Yard Sale, Aug. 24th. We are now taking donations and give me a call at 567-3267 or Jenn McVeigh at 567-3170 and we’ll make arrangements to have them picked up or unlock the garage to put them in. The Historical Society will have a Food Sale that day in the dining room to raise money to buy a fire proof filing cabinet. The Yard Sale will benefit the Prospect Concerns Emergency Heating Fund. We need about $5,000. to refill the fund. Lets make it a big one folks.
We now have two residents at the Waldo County Hospital in Belfast. Florence Drew has been moved from Intensive Care to room 215. She had fluid building up on her lungs and pneumonia. Saw her yesterday and she was coughing a lot and in general feeling poorly. Send a prayer her way please.
Donnie Carey is the other patient. He was operated on Wed. to replace a hip replacement that had been recalled. His brother Reggie said they broke his femur while trying to replace the hip and he is in much pain. Do hope that you will now begin to heal and that your hip problems are behind you. Best wishes Donnie.
Here comes another round of thunder and away I go. I want to wish you all a safe and healthy week and please remember those that need a card or a prayer. God Bless you all.
