Fall is official Sept. 22nd. And the temperature had dropped down considerably. We have had 2 frosts here but because of the location of our raised beds, it has not affected the plants.
Welcome Denise and Michelle Smith to Prospect. They have owned land across from Ed and Miriam Perry for several years and now they have sold their house in Texas and staying at Ed and Miriam’s trailer on Bowden Point until they get their house or trailer put on the lot. They certainly will notice the difference between the two states. Glad to have you here.
Our daughter, Lisa Sutherland of Bucksport who developed a love of hunting, got her first Bear Monday, late afternoon, in Penobscot. It weighed 172 lbs. and was a sow. She would go to her stand right after work for the past weeks and wait. Her husband Dwayne was at their camp on west Lake when she told him to come down and help get her bear out. Now she is getting ready for her first Moose Hunt in the coming week. Hope she gets a moose as she promised us a moose steak.
Andrea and Steve Dunphy of Florida came to stay with Miriam Perry for awhile after Ed’s passing and thought they would take a side trip to Canada for a few days. Andrea broke her ankle up there so that ended their side trip. Ask her what she thinks of the medical profession up there. Heal quickly Andrea.
Thank you to everyone for attending the Bean Supper the 1th. We had a good crowd but I missed the most of it because of a bad sprain in my shoulder and was to painful to continue. It takes me longer to type this with one hand but wanted to get the news in the paper.
The White Breasted Nuthatches are back on the deck and so are the Tufted Titmouse plus all the baby Gold Finches are screaming at their parents to feed them and boy can they eat.
I want to wish you all a safe and healthy week and remember those that need a card or a prayer. God Bless you all.
