What a winter we are having and here I thought that we were not getting the big storms and trouble other States were experiencing. Do hope that the ice is melting and that the warmer weather predicted will make everyone feel better.
There have been 10 turkeys hanging around here and Weds. when Paul and I were going to Bucksport, there were 18 turkeys ,single file, crossing the road right before the brow of the hill by Miriam Perry’s. We were glad that no one came along from the other side as it could have been disastrous, not only for the turkeys but for the vehicle involved.
The word from the Town Office is Dog Licenses are due by the end of the month and if not paid by then, a $25.00 fine will be added to the cost of the license. I would rather pay the $7.00 or $12.
Valery Doody returned from Texas where she spent the Holidays with her family down there. She said that 60 was too cold for them but she went out walking every morning and enjoyed it. Coming back she had problems with her flight due to weather related problems elsewhere so she had to sleep in the terminal in Penn. for the night-not much sleep but played cards with others in the same situation. Welcome back to the cold Valery.
As the box has been covered with snow, we have not had any bottles and cans for the Heating Fund but will resume soon. This is a very important project so we can help those that need emergency heating. It was good to know that L Heap funds came in last month and that had to have been a big boost for the people. If you are out or filling your tank with 5 gallon cans, we can help if you call me. With the donation from Athena health care and several other individuals, we can help with either 50 gallons or 100 gallons.
Prospect will officially be 220 years old next month and there will be meetings coming up soon for the planning of activities for the celebration. Want to help? Call Dee Terry at 567-3621 and let her know. There will be more coming up later.
Have not had Coffee Time the past 3 weeks due to Holidays and bad weather but it will resume next week if we don’t have another blizzard. Wednesday, 1:00 PM in the dining room. Our Snow Birds will be in our thoughts.
I want to wish you all a safe and healthy week and please remember those that need a card or a prayer. God Bless you all.
