Glad to report that Jackie Moody came home from the Lewiston Hospital last Saturday for some house rest. She is due for another operation but not sure when. She did return to the Dr.s for a check-up. We all wish her a speedy recovery.
There will be a joint meeting, Sept. 18th. of the Marsh School and History Day Committee and also to organize the Marsh School for the Open House on Oct. 4th. at 7:00 PM. The date of the meeting had to be changed due to a conflict with other meetings. Gloria Boynton has collected a little over $4,000. to have a Special of 20 minutes or more of Fireworks to cap off the event Oct. 4th. The contract has been signed with Central Maine Pyrotechnics and ready to go.
The Historical Society will be holding their meeting Sept. 8th. with Mr. Todd Little-Siebolt History Professor of History at the College of the Atlantic speaking about Apples native to the area. Jenn McVeigh has put out Posters about the presentation. The actual meeting will start at 6:30 PM for business matters, followed by Mr. Siebot.If you have an apple or questions, please bring it with you. There will be refreshments after the presentation.
I picked up a movie screen from Marilyn Shaver who has a shop in and she donated the screen to the Society if they need it again. Thanks Marilyn. She and I worked together at Champion Paper Co. in Bucksport for many years and after my Mother died, she bought Mom's house and she is also a very dear friend.
The Community Club will hold their meeting Sept.11th. at 7:00 PM and then on Saturday, the 13th. will be the Bean and Casserole Supper 4-6 PM. Hope to see you there.
