Sun, where is your beautiful heat? Everyone is waiting for it to come out and get rid of these constant snow flurries and light rain. Maybe after the time change it will brighten up.

Another reminder of the election of town officials, March 29. 10 a.m.-8 p.m. in the Town Office, and the town meeting will be held the next day, March 30, starting at 9 a.m. in the Fire House.

It is my understanding that LIHEAP is out of funds and now the people will have to find assistance somewhere else. This has been a bad winter heating-wise -- the Prospect Concerns Fund for Emergency Heat has helped 11 families this winter so far, and our funds are running low also. Oil is so high that 100 gallons will cost anywhere from $362 for No. 2 to $420 for kero. I do want to thank Thibodeau Fuels for its quick response when called to deliver to people who are out of fuel or nearly out. And mostly to all the people who have donated to this fund even though they also have high heating bills. We all have been in that situation at one time or another, so can understand the need.

At the Community Club meeting next Thursday night we will be laying out the plans for the summer and fall bean suppers, activities and special projects. Our first supper will be April 13, 4-6 p.m. and still $6 for adults and $2 for children under 12. The menu will be the same, beans, hot dogs, rolls, casseroles, salads, pies and beverages. I look forward to seeing our customers return along with some new ones.

As with any small organization, the workers are getting a little frayed and need some help. To work on a supper will require about three hours each month and a good sense of humor. If you think you could give that time every other month, it would be greatly appreciated. Either call me or come to the meeting and volunteer. Want to learn about osteoporosis? Mary Brown, RN, will be at the meeting to discuss prevention, risks and treatments. Should be very interesting. All are invited.

I want to wish you all a safe and healthy week, and please remember those who need a prayer or a card. God bless you all.
