Quilt workshop at Penobscot Marine
Searsport — Everyone is invited to learn to make a Log Cabin quilt square during a Saturday morning workshop Feb. 23 at Penobscot Marine Museum’s Stephen Phillips Memorial Library, Church Street.
Participants will need to bring thee pieces of cotton fabric in colors they love — fat quarters 18-by-22 work well; plus needle, thread and scissors. Template and pattern will be provided for those who would like to continue and make a larger project.
Workshop instructor Faith Garrold has been quilting by hand for 30 years. She has a small studio and has completed more than 100 quilts of all sizes, as well as other decorative pieces and wearable art clothing.
Beginners are welcome at the workshop, which will run from 9 a.m. to noon. Cost is $30, $25 for museum members. To register, call 548-2529 or register online at logcabinblock.eventbrite.com.
