R.I.D.E. event to promote diabetes awareness Sept. 14
The second annual R.I.D.E. (Reliable Information about Diabetes Education) will be held Saturday, Sept. 14. There will be three bike rides to promote awareness of Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes; to encourage exercise; and to raise awareness of the importance of eating healthy and staying active.
All rides will begin at the Education Center at the hospital. The intermediate ride, which is approximately 18.25 miles, will start at 9:30 a.m.
The beginner ride is 7.25 miles and leaves at 9:45 a.m.
The Family Fun Ride is approximately 1 mile and takes off at 10 a.m.
The fee is $15 per person or $20 per family with free T-shirts for riders (three per family and a $5 fee for additional). Proceeds will go toward Diabetes Education.
