Wednesday, February 26, starting at 6:30 p.m., Searsport Principal Brian Campbell will be the guest speaker at a meeting sponsored by Stockton and Searsport residents in the Stockton Springs Town Hall. This meeting is open to everyone and will be similar to the one held in Searsport. Searsport's meeting is shown on Cable Channel 2.

Sunday, March 2, starting at 2 p.m., the Democratic Caucus will be held in Union Hall. Anyone needing to register or change parties should be there at 1:30 p.m.

On February 16, the annual Meet the Candidate meeting was held in Union Hall. This meeting was recorded and will be broadcast on Cable Channel 7 many times between now and March 4th.

Absentee ballots are available at the town office for the Annual Municipal Election, March 4th. If you are unable to pick one up in person, please call the town office, 548-6372 and they will mail one to you. The last day to request an absentee ballot is February 27, 2014 at 4 p.m.

Searsport's Annual Town Meeting starts with the Municipal Election on March 4th. Polls will open at 8 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. I will give you the results of the voting when I get the totals. There are two openings on the Board of Selectmen. Running for the openings are Richard Desmarais, John Merrithew, Doug Norman and Travis Otis. There are nine openings for the Budget Advisory Committee. Running for the openings are Dorothy Alling, Brian Callahan, David Johnson, Rexford Kelley, Percy King, Arthur Koch Sr., Gary Moore, Michael Nahme, Keith Otis and Robert Jeff Pearson. Running for the RSU#20 Board of Directors is Dustin Nadeau. There is room for write in's for all three positions. Be sure to write in the full name.

You will also receive a ballot asking you if you favor filing a petition for withdrawal with the Board of Directors of Regional School Unit RSU#20. That will be a yes or no vote.

Saturday, March 8, starting at 9 a.m., the rest of the town meeting will take place in the Searsport High School Gym.

Also on March 4, starting at 7 p.m., is the regular meeting of the Selectmen which will take place in the Town Hall.
