Tuesday, May 20, starting at 7 p.m., the regular meeting of the Selectmen will take place in the Town Hall. This meeting will be televised.

Tuesday, May 20, starting at 12:30 p.m., the Farmers Market will take place in front of the Penobscot Marine Museum. Anyone wanting to participate in this market should contact Jim Nichols @ 567-3967. Jim has said that also will be a few spaces for crafter's.

Wednesday, May 21, starting at 10:30 a.m., Carver Library will hold their next Story Hour at the library.

Wednesday, May 21, starting at 7 p.m., the RSU20 Withdrawal Committee will meet in Union Hall. This meeting will be televised.

Thursday, May 22, starting at 6:30 p.m., the Historical Preservation Committee will meet downstairs in Union Hall.

Because the shellfish committee did the seeding with the high school this month, they will not have a meeting on the 22nd.

Saturday, May 24, from 9 to 2 p.m., rain or shine, the Searsport Methodist Church on Main Street is having a rummage sale. There is something for everyone, come find your treasure.

Saturday, May 24, from 10 to 2 p.m., WORKS, 21 East Main Street will be holding a buy-swap-sell Comic Book Swap Meet. All are welcome.

Monday, May 26, is Memorial Day. The parade will start at the Dan Rich Public Safety building at 9 a.m. and proceed to Mosman Park.

Now lets get to the latest on the paving. As I have observed and many others have noticed, the Dept. of Transportation is ready to start the paving. Last week they repainted new white and yellow lines on the entire length they intend to pave this week. This way, they can come back and repaint after the paving is done. Somehow, in the minds of DOT, I guess this makes sense. Anyway, the latest is that they will start in Searsport as soon as they finish Swan Lake Avenue in Belfast (middle of the week).

For those who want to plan ahead or have guests coming, I saw the Lobster Boat Race schedule for this year and they have the Searsport races as canceled for 2014. The car and craft shows scheduled for Mosman Park will be held and anyone wanting to be in either can get an application at the fire house or by calling 548-2302.

The information Center is now open. If you have brochures with prices or rates in them, you may want to update. On the back wall is what I will call a holder for rack cards. If you can use it and you can move it, you can have it.

Feel free to pass this on to interested people.
