Tuesday, June 24, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., the weekly Farmers Market will take place in front of the Penobscot Marine Museum.
Wednesday, June 25, starting at 6:30 p.m., the Comprehensive Planning Committee will meet in Union Hall. This meeting will be televised.
Saturday, June 28, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., the Carver Memorial Library Saturday Book Sale will take place at the back of the library.
Sunday, June 29, starting at 2 p.m., the American Legion, District 11, Department of Maine will hold a ceremony to honor Waldo County WWII veterans at the Bank of America Campus in Belfast. The ceremony comes 70 years after D-Day, June 6, 1944, when the allies with the largest air, land, and sea operation before and since turned the tide against Nazi fortress Europe. "A Blast From the Past" - Thursday, July 3rd., starting at 7 p.m., at Union Hall. A new look at a new sound. $8 for Adults and $4 for Students. Produced by Karen Kelley, Jim Rose and Mary Brann. All proceeds to benefit the Searsport Historical Society. Come and see old friends and meet new ones. Music, laughter, and lots of surprises! A great way to start the 4th of July in Searsport.
The Searsport and North Searsport Methodist Churches are preparing for their annual live auction on the 4th. They are accepting donations for the auction at this time. They prefer auction items only. The 4th of July parade will start at 11 a.m. from Norris Street. Lining up will start at 10:30.
The Barney Hose/Searsport Fire Department will be holding their annual "Classic Car Show and Craft Fair" in Mosman Park on July 19 from 9 to 3 p.m. $5.00 entry fee for cars and craft fair spaces (12X12) are $15.00. Bring your own tables. Free public admission. Contact information call 323-5255.
I have the left over plants from the Searsport Congregational Church Plant Sale. They are located next to my fence as you start down Norris Street. They are priced to sell and monies from the sale goes to the Searsport Beautification Committee to offset next years flowers for the planters downtown.
The Searsport Congregational Church will hold Vacation Bible School in Curtis Hall Vestry from Monday, August 18, through Friday, August 22, from 9 until noon daily. The program entitled "Gateway to Galilee" is free to all area children ages 5-12 and will offer amazing grace adventures including stories, songs, crafts, games, community walks and building T-shirts.
