‘Radius Belfast’ calls for art
Belfast — Åarhus Gallery has put out the call for its our all-encompassing fifth annual "44N 69W: Radius Belfast" show, which will run Thursday, Feb. 28, through the end of March. The opening reception is set for Friday, March 1 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Åarhus, 50 Main St.
The show is open to all residents, of any age or training, who live within a 30-mile radius of Belfast. Artworks must have been created within the last two years. There are no specifications regarding the content of the works. Works in all media are eligible, will be for sale and should be ready to hang.
Drop-off at the downtown gallery will be Thursday, Feb. 21, through Sunday, Feb. 24, from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. No mail entries will be accepted. Entries are as many as three per person, with a maximum size of 30 inches (including frame); all works will be shown at the gallery’s discretion.
There is a $5 entry fee per piece; a portion of the proceeds will be donated to local food banks. Artists will receive 50 percent, and Åarhus Gallery will donate 20 percent of sales from the show to food banks within a 30-mile radius of Belfast. Unsold work must be picked up April 4 through 7.
