Ralph Moran, 90
Mr. Ralph Moran, 90, of Indian Land, S.C., died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at Agape Assisted Living Center in Rock Hill, S.C. He was a resident of Colorado Springs, Colo., for more than 20 years.
The memorial service will be held privately.
Mr. Moran was born in Winterport to Stanley and Effie (Locke) Moran. Prior to World War II, he played baseball for the Florida State Minor League. He was a Navy veteran and a Merchant Marine in World War II. He attended Bangor Commercial College, University of Maine, University of Connecticut, U.S.M.M. Academy in Kings Point, Long Island, and Goodwin Technical College in Connecticut. Mr. Moran was a tool and die maker and marine diesel engineer. He was a retired manager of engineering for Coors for 16 years, and was a packaging engineering consultant for four years. He was an avid golfer all of his life.
Mr. Moran leaves a wife, Marjorie; three sons, Michael K. Moran (Nancy) of The Villages, Fla., James N. Moran of Coca, Fla., and Marc K. Moran of Denver, Colo.; and two stepsons, Kurt E. Bowling (Cheryl) of Indian Land, S.C. and Stephen M. Bowling of Palo Alto, Calif.; three granddaughters; and a grandson. He is also survived by two brothers, Paul S. Moran of Newnan, Ga., and Stanley F. Moran of Medfield, Mass.; and a sister, Norma Greenacre, of Lawrenceville, Ga.
